1.) What is the basis of scientific pedagogy for montessori?

Her appointment working with mentally challenged children in a hospital in Rome in 1897 spiked her interest in scientific pedagogy. working with the children convinced her that the problems were more connected with their education than their perceived mental illness.

2.) How does school furniture affect the education of a child?

The furniture placed in learning facilities can greatly effect the physical, mental, and emotional development of a child. Montessori method introduced two basic principals. First, developing adults and children engage in psychological self construction by means of interaction with their environments. Second, children have an innate path of psychological development.

3.) What effect does freedom have on the education of a child?

Freedom gives a child the ability to experience his or her environment, this helps the child in its psychological growth.

4.) What does Dewey seem to mean by the expression "thinking in education"?

To really learn, children have to be able to come to a conclusion on their own. That means that children have to learn to think, in order to be educated. Children learn to think by having their own experience's, forming ideas, finding data, and testing ideas. You have to think in education.

5.) What conditions must exist for the student to use thinking in education?

Students need to be able to come up with ideas on their own, they should be able to figure problems out for themselves. they should be put in an environment where their opinion matters so they can come up with their own answers, and not the answers of others. only when they can come up with the right answer for themselves are they really thinking in education.

6.) What seems to be the best process of education according to Dewey?

when the parent or teacher has taken a sympathetic attitude toward the activities of the learner by entering into a common or conjoint experience, all has been done which a second party can do to initiate learning. he believes that you don't learn by being able to recite the exact correct answer. you have to be able to come up with the answer through your own reasoning. being able to come up with the answer is the real definition of knowledge. education doesn't mean teaching facts, its being able to come to the right conclusion on your own.
